Hong Kong national day - Hong Kong A La Carte
27 June 2018
Celebrated on 1 July, this day commemorates the territory’s handover from Britain to China in 1997. It was then agreed that the transition would spread over the next 50 years, thus the creation of a Special Administrative Region (SAR) to help manage the change. This date is not to be confused with China national day which is also celebrated in Hong Kong on 1 October.
Whichever you decide to celebrate, numerous festivities will take place such as concerts, cultural performances, fireworks and flag raising ceremonies. If you like history as well as celebrations, our team of professional guides will gladly take you on a private tour that will feature the best of this year’s 21st anniversary.
