The Summer 2021 Scavenger Hunt is designed by HONG KONG A LA CARTE (HKALC) in order for Hong Kong residents to (re)discover Hong Kong’s history and culture while having fun and performing tasks

Due to social distancing restrictions currently in place, teams consist of 2 to 4 people

• The Summer 2021 Scavenger Hunt will take place from 23 July evening to 8 August 2021 evening to allow participants to complete as many tasks as possible
• The event will cover the entire territory of Hong Kong and will consist of 15 missions + 1 final challenge
• Tasks will be accessible from a secured page on HKALC’s website on 23 July 2021 in the evening
• The last day to submit your answers will be on 8 August 2021 at 23:59

Register by filling in your team’s details in the registration form and by emailing it to contact@hkalacarte.com

Children under 14 years old will need an adult on their team to participate

Children aged from 14 to 17 years old will need an adult to vouch for their registrations (see below registration form)

HK$ 1000 per team

Once your signed registration form is received, HKALC will send an invoice to the adult paying for the team

We accept Credit card payments, ATM and HSBC online banking transfers and cheque deposit

• Once the team’s payment is received, HKALC will create a WhatsApp (WA) group dedicated to the team
• HKALC will communicate missions via their website’s dedicated pages
• As answers can be sent in no particular order to HKALC using the dedicated WA groups, teams will need to mention which task they refer to when communicating with us
• Once answers have been submitted and seen by HKALC, they cannot be changed nor be retracted
• Only one answer per question will be allowed
• Answers must be given in English and names of venues must be spelled correctly
• The Summer 2021 Scavenger Hunt will end at 23:59 on 8 August 2021. Answers received after this deadline will not be added to the teams’ final scores
• Read the missions correctly as allocating points will depend on the quality and correctness of the answers
• All clues/tasks/challenges that require photos to be taken should showcase all team members unless otherwise mentioned. If a team member is missing, the photo will be voided
• When an action requires 2 answers, please send them together or back to back to ensure points are allocated correctly (for example when an action requires a name and a photo)
• All tasks/challenges/clues are straightforward, HKALC will not answer questions
• All decisions by the judges are final. No exceptions!

A 15mn private helicopter tour of Victoria Harbour for 4 people

• The winning team will be announced on 12 August 2021
• The winning team will be selected according to the number of points won
• In the event of a tiebreak situation remaining after the judging process is complete, the team which first completed the game, will be deemed the winner
• The prize is valid until 31 December 2021

• Team members will need to stay together while playing. They will not be allowed to split up to “divide” tasks
• Some of the Summer 2021 Scavenger Hunt tasks might lead you to meeting people you do not know and to visiting places of worship. It is very important to be kind and respectful, and with that said – always be on guard and stay safe, use your best judgment when it comes to people you don’t know and animals you might encounter in the wild
• NO harassing citizens of your town, physically or verbally for items or photographs. It is their right to choose not to help you and you should respect that
• Teams must be courteous and respectful to their teammates and all the outside people involved in the Summer 2021 Scavenger Hunt
• No breaking any laws! The Summer 2021 Scavenger hunt is for having fun, but you must do so legally! If you break any laws during the duration of the Summer 2021 Scavenger hunt, your team will be disqualified. This includes (but is not limited to) – shoplifting, assault, trespassing, blackmail, bribery, forgery, perjury, fraud, etc.!
• If businesses or private individuals lend you items it’s okay, but please note that it is each team’s responsibility to return any borrowed items to their original owners (if requested)
• HKALC reserves the right to cancel the Summer 2021 Scavenger Hunt should:
  a. Hong Kong government impose stricter social distancing restrictions banning people from taking part
  b. The number of teams enrolled be insufficient to cover our running costs
• Should the game cancel before its launch, teams will be refunded minus the payment transfer fees incurred by credit card payments (circa 4%)
• Should the game cancel while it is on-going, we will postpone the rest of the game to another date. Refund will not be possible
• Should it be impossible for teams to fully complete tasks due to venues being unexpectedly closed to comply with Covid restrictions, points will be awarded depending on how close your answers are to the original requests (location, photo, video, etc)
