Since we couldn't travel anywhere because of Covid, we participated in the wonderful Holiday Game that Alex and Stephanie created for those of us living in Hong Kong.. We not only learned a lot more about Hong Kong (despite I have lived here 30 years), we had a lot of fun figuring out clues, learning about the local arts and culture, cooked and tasted local foods, and discovered new shopping malls. We didn't know there are still some British colonial style post boxes on Hong Kong island and outer island too! It was an eye-opening experience being a local tourist! What better way to spend the summer! Alex and Stephanie put a lot of thought into the game and their personal touch is much appreciated! I would highly recommend any tours organised by HK Ala Carte. I will definitely be a returning customer!

Throughout the planning stages with Alex (her emails were intelligent and she was sensitive to my ever-changing requests), and leading up to meeting our guide, Stephanie, we were pleased and impressed. When we met Stephanie her charm and class were an immediate draw, but in short order we realized she offered more than that - she was knowledgeable, sincere, flexible, and patient. She was also proactive...offering alternatives on the spot when we didn't want to linger longer, or patiently waiting when we lingered too long! Aside from learning about Hong Kong's past (through conversations and historical photos she brought), we also learned about the city's recent history and current affairs. When we wanted to delve into the "soul" of the city and experience it more as a local, she was mindful of our comfort and safety while happily accommodating our every whim.

I had a full day 9-17 private tour with Alexandra from Hong Kong a la Carte. I must say that the tour was so interesting and I am sad to say the day passed by very fast. She brought me to various neighbourhoods. I learned about the history and nowadays life, I heard about Feng Shui, Chinese medicine, saw all kinds of nice and also a bit weird stuff while visiting the markets :). It was all so captivating. Alexandra is such a sweet and friendly person - she makes you feel like you have known her forever. I highly recommend Hong Kong a la Carte.
